PERSPECTIVE

More Than a Residence Permit

Property, family arrangements, international mobility and longer-term planning should be considered together when establishing a base in Malta.

FAMILY & LONGER-TERM PLANNING

Residence Is One
Part of a Wider
Plan.

Establishing residence in Malta can intersect with
family arrangements, property decisions and wider
international planning. These considerations are
best viewed together rather than in isolation.

01
FAMILY

Plan Around the Family

Consider how the residence strategy relates
to eligible family members, education,
lifestyle and each family’s longer-term plans.

02
PROPERTY

Think Beyond the Requirement

The qualifying property is a programme
requirement, but location, intended use and
longer-term objectives may also influence
whether renting or purchasing is appropriate.

03
INTERNATIONAL PLANNING

Consider the Wider Picture

Residence should be considered alongside
relevant tax, legal, succession and other
cross-border matters with appropriate
professional advisers where required.
